These plaques at Johnsonville historic area need to be enlarged to read, or read an attachment that I will attempt to post. I really enjoyed this areas history of the Civil War battles, one area was named Hooker's Bend on our map, not anything to do with the "profession' but with the General from Union army that screwed up the North's position so thoroughly that the south put his name on the map I guess!

This is a picture on the plaque that shows the devestation of Johnsonville after Forrest's attack.

Old Johnsonville was flooded in 1945 to create Kentucky Lakes, part of the Tenneesse Valley Authority to create electricity and jobs during the depression. The Govt bought the land and created a state part during the Kennedy or Johnson administration.
